Salted BBQ Honey Soy Chicken Pieces

Ingredients:

  • 900g chicken pieces (drumsticks, wings, or bone-in thighs)
  • 60ml soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons ShortHive Salted Honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Fresh parsley or spring onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, ShortHive Salted Honey, olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, and black pepper.

  2. Add the chicken pieces to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly with the marinade. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 1 hour, or for better flavour, refrigerate overnight.

  3. Preheat your barbecue grill to medium-high heat. Make sure the grates are clean and lightly greased.

  4. Place the chicken pieces on the grill, reserving the marinade for basting.

  5. Grill the chicken for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 75°C and the chicken is fully cooked. Baste the chicken with the reserved marinade during grilling, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking and to create a flavourful glaze.

  6. Once cooked, transfer the chicken pieces to a serving platter.

  7. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or spring onions for added freshness and presentation.
